This course is directed towards individuals who wish to expand their basic handgun knowledge and take handgun shooting technique to the next level. It’s required individuals come with a basic knowledge of handgun safety, firearms, ammo and range etiquette. The course will cover many topics and shooting exercises geared towards educating students on self-defense, preparedness and shooting efficiency. Unlike the basic handgun and concealed carry course, the advanced course consists of less classroom time and more range time.

Taught by Melissa, owner and six year instructor and Don, a certified instructor with 35 years of competition shooting and law enforcement experience.

  • Levels of mental awareness 
  • Psychological, biological and emotional regulation in survival mode
  • Flight or fight response 
  • Psychology of the criminal mind and active shooters
  • Home protection tips inside & outside the home 
  • Proper holster presentation and advanced shooting positions 
  • Dealing with the aftermath of a shooting 
  • Medical overview of treating a bullet wound  
  • Handgun shooting simulations to diagnose shooting errors 
  • Range drills consisting of teaching proper on the move shooting, barricade usage, point shooting, speed and accuracy drills, timed drills, one-handed mag changes and much more..

 

Please select class type based on classroom, range time and firearm rental options (if applicable).

Required: Firearm (one you have experience shooting), holster (fits your firearm), mag holster, at least two magazines, and at least 200 rounds of caliber specific, quality ammo. 

This course does not include ammo or lunch — Ammo, eye protection and ear protection is available for purchase at the store if needed. Bring a lunch or snack if needed. 

Paper and steel targets provided! 

Classroom time averages roughly 2 hours, range time averages between 3 - 3 1/2 hours dependent upon how well students grasp information, questions, and student attendance.

This class takes place at Dragonman's Shooting Range. Students will be met inside and directed where to go from here. 

All students must be 21 years or older. ​​
