The Box Drill - Pistol or Rifle

This drill stresses shot placement and multiple target engagement.  It forces you to think under stress and focus in a proactive way.

Target Set-Up: Place two silhouette targets ideally a yard apart, but any distance you’re comfortable with or your shooting range allows is fine.

  • Engage the first target (doesn't matter which one) with two shots to the center
  • Transition to the second target fire two shots to the center
  • On the second target, take your headshot
  • Finally, transition and finish with a final headshot on the first target

Add challenge: Incorporate a magazine change halfway through the drill. Add a shot timer. You can also add in additional round counts to each magazine and shot engagement.
